Gathering of the Tribes Festival 2007

The special conception of the Festival is on the one side a broad music and party programm Techno, Elektro to Psychedelic/Progressive Trance, wild Balkan and Chill Music and on the other side a big Opening Panel (discussion about partypolitics and culture!) and various Workshops&Playgrounds happening all over the weekend.

At the same time the Sonics Network is having their annual meeting at the hotelrooms next door to the festival location, to discuss about drug policies in europe and safe party issues and to support the Festival.

The Festival is organized by a crew of people living in/around Frankfurt who since a long time are involved and active in the local partyscene&culture. In some way the Gathering of the Tribes is following the tradition of the legendary Cybertribe Festivals happened 98/99 in Signalwerk Mainz.

So the idea is that artists and active guests playing/working mainly for traveling expenses so some money from the Festival can get donated to the Playground Association which is active in the of Ex-Yugoslawia, supporting different groups, organizing tours to work with social disadvantaged kids and planing to do a summercamp in Kosova. www.theplayground.de

Again in 2007 we have invited Tribes, artists and labels from all over Europe to participate. Everyone has the opportunity to send an ambassador, representing his or her Tribe in whatever form, i.e. with décor, music or performance. Great emphasis is placed on the Tribe being represented, not the individual artist.

Three days will give us plenty of scope for an amazingly varied program, including Live Acts. This will not be a pure trance event but offers the chance to fill 4 different stages, this party will be able to cater to every wish the psychedelic, electronic heart may have.
